what company do you design for? and how did you get into the business?
i really want to be a shoe designer but the only way i know how to get designs out is possibly enter the nike future sole competition if they have it next year. some advice would great! thanks

Dan92p, I was originally recruited by Reebok during a nation-wide designer search. They came to CCS and offered me a job before I actually graduated. I finished, of course! Once you have a strong portfolio put together, I recommend sending your resume and some sample work to the HR departments of the companies you are interested in. I also suggest posting some sample work on www.core77.com since many employers surf through the portfolios. They also have an extensive jobs board where you may find something of interest.

glupan4, I use a MacBook Pro laptop ($3K) and a 21" Cintiq drawing screen from Wacom ($2K). The programs which I use most frequently are: Illustrator, Photoshop and Sketchbook Pro ($190). I bounce between these programs a lot! All you need is a descent computer and sketchbook pro and you should be in good shape.
