DESIGN BRIEF

THE ULTIMATE RENDERING!

To kick off the new year, we wanted to show off your Rendering abilities. The medium you choose is up to you! Winners will be selected in both digital and analogue formats. Whether your rendering with markers on paper or have crossed over to the digital world, even the 3D world, there is a place for your work here. The subject matter should fall within one of the following categories:

Fantasy, Product Design & Still Life, Athletic, Transportation, Science Fiction, Portrait, Landscape, and Creatures.

Each submission will also be entered in Render Demo's 1st ever "INSPIRATIONS" Book. This picture book is being created to show off our talented artists work to a worldwide audience. Your masterpiece along with your name and contact information will be included. Your work will inspire other artists and designers at all levels. This may also lead to unimaginable opportunities.

Be Creative and Original. We want to see some wild creations! And most of all... HAVE FUN!

RULES

ORIGINALITY
All submissions must be work that is original from the designer. IMAGES SUBMITTED MUST NOT CONTAIN PREVIOUSLY COPYRIGHTED ARTWORK. Do not copy-and-paste elements from other sources. Submissions with such elements will be disqualified.

JUDGING
Entries will be judged on the following criteria: design, originality, creativity and execution. There will be one 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners selected by a panel of judges and published at: renderdemo.com and sponsor sites.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES AND GROUPS
Participants are encouraged to submit as many designs as they wish. Group entries are allowed. One member of the team must complete the submission process and include all group member names in the email.

PUBLICITY
Winners may be required to participate in press initiatives including the following:
- Names and winning concepts to be incorporated in all PR outreach and press materials
- Winner and Finalists may be required to submit a head shot and bio for press use.

RIGHTS
Intellectual property rights will remain with the designer, although Render Demo retains the right to publish or display any competition entry in any format, exhibition or publication. Render Demo retains the right to use the winning designs, royalty free, for application on future DVD tutorials as well as book publications or partner website publication.

ELIGIBILITY
This competition is open to all artists, designers, students, professionals and enthusiasts worldwide. The competition is free - there is no entry fee to participate. Employees of Render Demo are not eligible to participate.

HOW TO ENTER

STEP 1: PREPARING YOUR WORK
How you submit your entry is very important. The judges are looking for creative highly rendered masterpieces. Because these images may be selected for the "Inspirations" book, you must follow the below guidelines when submitting your work. Entries that do not meet all the requirements below may be disqualified.

A. Include your Name (first and last), Address with Country, email and personal website URL (if available). This should be added in your email and not on the actual artwork image. DO NOT put any watermarks, company names, URL's or any other text on images you enter. All images will be fully credited with information you provide. It is acceptable to sign your image.

B. You must provide a brief description of your rendering limited to 250 words. Be as detailed as possible but quick to the point You must also name your artwork and submit the title of your masterpiece.

C. Indicate which tools you used in order to create your artwork. For example: Prisma colored pencils on Canson. OR. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketchbook Pro. If applicable, indicate size of canvas or art board.

D. Images must be uncompressed RGB (.TIF) format. Do not include Alpha or other non-RGB Channels or layers. If you are scanning your artwork, please follow these guidelines when preparing your final submission.

E. Image size is very important. Image dimensions should be print resolution (as large as possible) Do not send low-resolution placeholder images since we will not be contacting you to resubmit. A guideline is approximately 2657 x 3636 pixels (either portrait or landscape). *DO NOT upsample your images to achieve higher resolution. If you cannot reach the desired full-page resolution, just submit what you have.

F: Each image must be included in a zip file. Only one image per zip file. (No other files should be in the zip file). Multiple entries must be sent or emailed in multiple, different zip files.

STEP 2: SEND IN YOUR WORK
Entries can be submitted two ways. By post to: RENDER DEMO DESIGN STUDIO 5016 Taylor Lane Ellicott City, Maryland 21043 USA -OR- by email to mark@renderdemo.com. Please do not mail original artwork as it will not be mailed back. The cost of shipping is the responsibility of the sender and you will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred to ship digital media.
